Clinical Approach

I integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches into my practice that are appropriate to each client.  I use strategies and techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and somatic-experiencing to help you feel more grounded and present.  I believe in good self-care and encourage my clients to get the best treatment and healthcare in addition to therapy to promote wellbeing in all areas of life.

What to Expect

Once a session has been set-up you will receive electronic intake forms to complete prior to our first session.  In a first session you can expect that we will review intake forms together so I can better your understand mental health history and what brings you into therapy. 


I approach the therapeutic relationship with compassion, gentleness, and warmth to help you feel safe to share and talk.  As we sit together I will listen to help you feel understood, ask questions to help you think deeply, and hold space to help you process emotions. Therapy is emotional work that takes place over time.  As we continue to meet, you will gain new perspective and have more tools to live a healthier and happier life.


Insurance Information

I am considered an out-of network provider with most insurance companies and provide statements you can submit separately to your insurance company.  My clients have a high rate of success in receiving reimbursement for therapy services.  Check with your insurance company to learn more about your coverage for out-of network mental health providers.  

Here are some questions to ask your health insurance provider:

  1. What are my Out Of Network, Mental Health insurance benefits?

  2. What is my deductible and has it been met?

  3. How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  4. What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

My office is located in Downtown Bethesda at 4424 Montgomery Avenue, Suite 201, Bethesda, MD 20814 and is a 5 minute walk from the Bethesda metro stop on the redline.  Parking is available at the Waverly Garage and there is limited street parking outside the building.



Client Focus

I work 1:1 with individual adults in-person to deeply listen, talk with, and provide tools for healing and support.  You may identify as functioning and "well" but feel overwhelmed, lost, or stuck in some area of life.  The goal of psychotherapy (also called or therapy or counseling) is to help you increase self-awareness, and achieve a higher quality of life through a trusting therapeutic relationship.
